  • Announcing our newest Ambassador – Ted Turner

We here at One Great Night on Earth are so proud to announce Ted Turner as an Ambassador to the project.

Ted Turner was a guitarist and vocalist with the 1970s rock band, Wishbone Ash, in which he was famed for his twin lead guitar instrumental arrangements with Andy Powell. Turner also contributed lap steel guitar to a variety of Wishbone Ash recordings. Ted originally joined Wishbone Ash in 1969. The reputation and fame for Wishbone Ash grew around the world rapidly in the early seventies.

The Original band recorded five albums including the most popular the “rock classic” ARGUS. In these years Ted played music with many famous musicians on stages, recordings and sessions.

In 1971 Ted was invited to play on John Lennon’s “Imagine” album, adding acoustic guitar on the track “Crippled Inside”. Ted accepted the chance to record with John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. In the spring of 1974, Ted left Wishbone Ash and the music business to travel the world.

In 1987 Ted rejoined Wishbone Ash and with them recorded “Nouveau Calls” for Miles Copeland’s No Speak label. In the spring of 1988, the original Wishbone Ash toured England and Europe for the first time in

15 years, and in the fall of that year Ted was invited to join Copeland’s “Night of the Guitar” tour. That show included such guitar legends as Randy California, Peter Haycock, Steve Howe, Steve Hunter, Robby Krieger, Leslie West, Alvin Lee and Jan Akkerman.

During Ted Turner’s career with Wishbone Ash, he has played to four generations of fans all around the world. He has been voted one of Rolling Stone’s ‘Top Twenty Rock Guitarists of All Time’, and named by Traffic magazine as “one of the most important guitarists in rock history”.

In the early summer of 2010, Ted released his 1st solo album “Eklectic Value” to critical acclaim. Ted believes that life and music are all part of a journey, he continues to write and record and play live occasionally all the latest details can be found at http://www.tedturnerguitar.com

We welcome you with open arms Ted and thank you for stepping aboard our fine event and incredibly worthy cause.

    Till next time,

    LJM – Project Director
